The TopSoil® Summit was a great success, bringing together farmers, agriculturalists, and biofuel players. This year’s event focused on helping prepare for the 45Z Tax Credits going into effect. It was a full house of farmers, ag professionals, and industry experts!

2024 TopSoil Summit Presentations

From the Farm to the Skies

One of the keynotes was Astri Martin, Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations, Southwest Airlines Renewable Ventures. Tune in as Astri shares the past and future of Southwest Airlines Renewable Ventures and SAFFiRE and explains the process behind turning feedstock into SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).

45Z Value Partner Panel

During the 45Z Value Partner Panel, CEO Mitchell Hora is joined by a few of the experts Continuum Ag is partnering with on Carbon Intensity (CI) Certification as part of the 45Z Tax Credits going into effect on January 1, 2025.

Farmer Panel

Another one of our TopSoil Summit Panels was the Ethanol & Beyond Panel. During this panel, CEO Mitchell Hora guided a discussion with several experts who work in the biofuel space to discuss impactful changes with CI and implications for their industry.

Our Carbon Intensity (CI) 101 Panel was joined by Continuum Ag employees. Watch as this group explains the opportunities on the horizon, the 45Z Tax Credit, and why Continuum Ag is excited about Carbon Intensity (CI).

From Soybeans to BioDiesel

Paul Nees, General Manager of Global Supply & Trading for Chevron Renewable Energy Group joined us at the TopSoil Summit to share the biofuel industry’s past, present, and future. He also spoke on crush plants and ways the industry needs to advocate to promote growth.

Carbon Intensity: All In!

One of the keynote speakers was our very own Mitchell Hora, Founder and CEO of Continuum Ag. In his keynote, Mitchell dives into the history of Continuum Ag, the step-by-step process of the CI Certification Customer Journey, and the importance of collaborating with ethanol plants and dealers.

The Iowa Low Carbon Intensity (CI) Biofuel Landscape

Monte Shaw, Executive Director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association spoke on the Iowa Low CI BioFuel Landscape spoke about many topics including the future of ethanol plants in Iowa, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and ways Iowa farmers can get involved in low-carbon grain programs.
