Relay-Cropping and Reducing Inputs to Achieve Regenerative Resilience

Illinois City, IL

Keith Gorham and his family have been farming regeneratively since 2016 on 500 acres near Illinois City, Illinois, just miles from Muscatine, Iowa. They grow winter wheat, soybeans and corn and raise cattle, pigs, goats and a few chickens. Keith’s goal with adopting regenerative agriculture practices is to increase profitability per acre by reducing inputs all while improving soil health.

On their journey to build a resilient farming operation, they’ve had successes and learned lessons that Keith will share during his field day. Join us to learn the latest about Keith and his son Blain’s work to relay-crop winter wheat and soybeans, cut nitrogen in corn and use a roller-crimper on their cereal rye cover crop.
