Alex Klopfenstein is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Continuum Ag, joining the team in 2024. His focus includes developing training materials for employees and dealers, aiding leadership, and aligning company initiatives. With a background in education, Alex holds his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Teaching from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Science Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University.
For a decade, Alex served in various roles in public education, ranging from a secondary social studies teacher and athletic coach to instructional coach and administrator, including roles as an elementary principal and the Dean of Students at Washington High School. Alex recently transitioned into the private sector, most recently serving as the Director of Employee Operations for a small business in Iowa City.
Despite initially pursuing a non-agricultural path, Alex’s childhood experiences on his family farm in rural Iowa, ignited a passion for agriculture. Alex has fond memories of riding in the tractor and combine with his grandfather which helped fuel his reconnection with the agricultural world. Alex has also spent time assisting his father-in-law with pigs which has provided valuable insight, life lessons, and cherished memories.
Alex lives in Washington, Iowa, with his wife Emily, and their three children. Alex loves spending quality time with his family and keeps busy with his children’s activities which range from theater to sports. In his free time, you can find Alex playing golf, slow-pitch softball, cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, or traveling with loved ones.
